The Logos program is changing this year! Here's the new info as of August, 2006.The Logos Advisory Committee has been very busy working on the upcoming Logos year. We have been faced with some difficult problems to solve:
- Fewer students attending Logos
- No one willing to be on the Logos Advisory Committee
- Filling all the volunteer spots needed for the Logos year
After many hours of discussion we have made some changes to the 2006-2007 Logos year and are very excited about them.
The First Semester of Logos will run from September 6 until December 20 and the Second Semester of Logos will run from January 13 and conclude on March 28. There will not be a regular weekly meal. Instead, we will have a meal on November 29 to celebrate the start of Advent and a meal on February 28 to celebrate the start of Lent. We will need volunteers to help with these two special meals—table parents and kitchen help. A sign-up sheet will be in the fellowship hall. More information regarding the meals will be announced at a later date.
Each Wednesday night Logos will start at 6:30 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. The first night of Logos all students will need to report to the sanctuary. This year Kindergarten thru 12th grade are invited to attend the Logos program. Each Wednesday there will be a theme that the children can participate in. Two Wednesdays each month 2nd-5th grade will have choir so these students can be involved in Sunday worship service by singing. The High School youth will continue to meet with Bethany for Bible Time and choir on Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 as well. Students will still be expected to help with coffee fellowship again this year. That schedule will be in the Logos handbook, which will be handed out the first night of Logos.
Confirmation class this year will include the 6th grade, 7th grade and 8th grade. If you have a child in one of these grades and wish to have them confirmed, they will need to attend confirmation classes on these evenings from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Two parent volunteers will be needed monthly to help with Confirmation breakout sessions with the students. On the enclosed form, please fill in which month(s) you would be willing to help. It is very important that parents are involved with their child and helping with confirmation is an excellent opportunity.
There is a registration form attached that every family needs to fill out. Please complete the entire form so that we have correct information pertaining to your child and family. There will be no fee to attend Logos this year. A donation toward the Logos program is welcome to help purchase teaching materials and for the two meals that will be celebrated this year.
